the sunday entry

too much and never enough

2 min readfiled under: from the wall.

hey, it's tiff.

this week i'm going to mostly get out of the way, because someone wrote something on the wall that i cannot say better. a few lines from it:

"people think i'm strong because i keep going. because i show up. but what they don't see is how loud my mind is when i'm alone."

"too emotional. too sensitive. too ambitious. too messy. too much. and somehow, at the same time, never enough."

"i think i've spent so much of my life apologizing for taking up space that i forgot i was allowed to exist without earning it first."

three strangers pressed "this helped" on that entry. no names, no followers, no comment-section performance. just: i read this, and something in me sat down next to it.

here's the only thing i'll add. the writer says they feel stuck. read those lines again, because they don't read stuck to me. they read like someone mid-turn, still moving, narrating the turn from inside it.

and one more thing. "too much and never enough" is a sentence i have said about my own brain for years, in almost exactly those words. we've never met. neither of us learned it from the other. that's the secret the wall keeps proving: we've all been writing the same diary alone, thinking we were its only author.

you're not the only author.
