the rules, in plain language

No legalese maze. Just the things you need to know before you use this place.

Version 2026-04-17. Last updated April 17, 2026.

what this is

The ADHD Diary Project (we call it ADP) is a diary platform for adults with ADHD. You can write anonymously, read entries from other people, and eventually join a paid community hub with rooms, body doubling, and downloads.

This is not therapy. This is not medical advice. This is not crisis support. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

who can use this

You have to be 18 or older. ADP is not designed for minors, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child signed up, email support@adhddiaryproject.com and we will delete the account.

anonymity in our diary

Entries in our public diary are anonymous by design. Your email, if you made an account, is never attached to anything other people can see. We do not show usernames on entries. We do not build public profiles.

If you create an account, we can link your own entries back to your account page so you can see what you have written. That link is private to you.

what you can write

Write the stuff you cannot say out loud. Rage, shame, grief, exhaustion, the thing you are scared to admit. That is the whole point.

What you cannot do here:

  • Dox, threaten, or target another real person.
  • Post phone numbers, home addresses, or links to external sites outside our allowlist.
  • Post spam, promotions, or anything trying to recruit people off the platform.
  • Post medical dosages, prescription details, or anything that reads like medical instruction.
  • Post sexual content involving anyone under 18 in any form, ever.

Breaking these rules gets your entry removed, and repeat violations end your account.

moderation and crisis detection

Every entry runs through an automated safety check before it posts. The check is an AI classifier looking for one thing: active, present-tense intent to harm yourself, with a plan or a timeline. Past-tense memoir, processing old crises, and raw emotional pain are not flagged. Those belong here.

If the classifier flags active intent, the entry does not post to our public diary. It stays saved to your own account, and you see 988 and Crisis Text Line on screen. You can still write. We just do not amplify a present-tense plan to other readers.

accounts and access

The ADHD Diary Project is free. Reading our diary and writing entries do not require an account or payment.

Accounts are also free. An account lets you save entries, keep a list of what you have written, reply to entries, and post to the win wall.

Membership is $9 a month. It unlocks the chat rooms, body doubling, and the workbook, and it is what keeps the diary itself free for everyone. If your account existed before we turned membership on, you keep full access free, forever. No card, no action needed.

deleting your account

You can delete your account anytime from the Privacy and Data tab. Deletion is a soft delete for 7 days. During that window you can restore the account by clicking a link in the confirmation email, or by clicking Restore on the account page if you log back in.

After 7 days, the deletion becomes permanent. Your email, profile, saved entries list, and Bot chat history are removed. Your public diary entries stay in our diary, anonymous, because they belong to the people reading them too.

Crisis safety events are anonymized (your user ID is stripped) and kept for at least 90 days after deletion. That is the only thing we retain. It exists for safety audit, nothing else.

our rights, simply

We can remove content that breaks the rules above. We can close accounts that keep breaking them. We can change features with notice. If a change is material enough to matter, we will say so on the platform and give you time to decide.

We make no promises that ADP will always be online, or that any specific feature will always be available. This is a small project run by a small team.

no warranty, no advice

ADP is provided as-is. We do not guarantee outcomes, emotional, medical, financial, or otherwise. Nothing on this platform is professional advice. Tiff's Bot is an AI. It is not Tiff, not a therapist, and not a crisis line.

To the extent the law allows, we limit our liability to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (which may be zero).

governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. If there is a dispute, it gets handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

changes to these terms

We will update this page when the rules change. Substantive changes bump the version number at the top. Next time you log in after a bump, we will ask you to re-accept before you continue.
